Columbus Museum of Art Garden Inspired Wedding

NICOLE + RYAN

Guests felt like they were walking into a garden when entering the Columbus Museum of Art to celebrate the wedding of Nicole and Ryan. Gorgeous drapery from Serendipity hung from the ceiling and monogramed details scattered all throughout, but the fun didn’t start there.

As I arrived to Le Meridien, The Joseph hotel, laughter was already filling the air as bridesmaids had in their hands cutouts of the groom. You could tell everyone has been decade long friends and that the memories that were about to be made had been long anticipated.

In fact, some might say that this marriage was anticipated before the couple even met. Nicole and Ryan’s moms had joined a group for college-parents and connected over their children soon leaving the nest. As their friendship grew, they got the wild idea to arrange N + R’s orientations to be the same day. Now this is the moment where you’d hope I’d say, “and the two met and it was love at first sight,” but in reality it was the opposite and they didn’t hit it off right away. However, that that didn’t stop fate. Eventually they ran into each other again at a party freshman year and instantly became best friends while their mom’s relationship grew too. After 8 years of being each others best friends, something finally clicked and they knew their love was more than friendship.

That leads us back to this stunning day that Ashley Stephan’s so magically created. I am still in awe at the sweet moments that were scattered throughout the day. Nicole’s first look with her dad made everyone teary eyed. The joy that radiated from both of them causes smiles that didn’t leave their faces the rest of the night. Then the ceremony, dreamy. A floral chuppah by Bluhen Flowers towered over them as sun light from the Atrium windows shone in. It was so picturesque as they exchanged personal vowels with their parents and siblings at their side.

As the evening grew dark, the uplighting by Luminary Productions got brighter. Loved ones were greeted with freshly poured champagne and captivated by tall vessels of madonna lillies and greenery. As the Conspiracy Band set up, everyone grew eager to get on the dance floor. The energy grew with their “East Coast” style reception and the espresso martini bar set up on the cart from Aiden and Grace was the perfect nightcap. These two really wanted to create a night to remember and they did just that.
