Disney Princess Birthday Party
Reagan + Jocelyn
And just like that I have 2 four-year-olds who are kind, smart, ornery, and oh so sweet! It’s true what they say you know, time really is a thief. I’m not sure I ever fully understood that expression until after having my daughters. They are growing up entirely too quickly and I’m constantly torn between the emotions of wanting them to stay small, but also relishing in seeing them become these amazing and independent little girls.
When Reagan and Jocelyn first asked for a Disney Princess party for their birthday I said, “Of course, but let’s keep it simple!” Then Pinterest happened. Tell me I’m not alone in going down that rabbit hole. I started pouring all of my emotions around them turning a year older into party planning and DIY projects.
I spent more time than I would care to admit preparing for this shindig. And you know what? I would do it all again because watching Reagan and Jocelyn have the best day ever surrounded by a house full of family and friends who love them was pure magic.
All the kiddos arrived and entered into the “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique” (aka my office) to dress up and accessorize. They decorated tiaras, played kiss the frog, and got all “tangled up” in Rapunzel's hair. They were surprised (and perhaps some terrified) by a real life knight arriving to take pictures and visit. My brother has a full suit of armor and Reagan and Jocelyn thought it was pretty cool seeing their uncle dressed up!
The dessert table had cake, beauty buns (donuts), princess chow, cupcakes, Pinkalicious strawberry milk, and brownies. Needless to say, we made sure everyone left with a belly full of sugar— all the parents loved me for that.
Of course, none of this would have happened without the help of my amazing family and my incredibly talented Mom of Sweetie Girls Treatery who made the cake and hand painted sugar cookies! Seriously, just wait until you see the princess dress sugar cookies up close!
Yes, I realize this is not wedding related, but too much love was poured into this party not to share. I hope you enjoy and promise to be back to wedding posts soon!
