Jamie & Jeff

I first met Jamie and Jeff over beers at Seventh Son Brewing Co. during our consultation meeting and it was love at first sight (at least for me anyways!haha). Maybe is was the delicious bourbon barrel aged ale on tap that set the perfect mood, but I don't think so because they are truly just so great! Sometimes I meet with couples and instantly feel comfortable and relaxed chatting like I'm just catching up with old friends and that is exactly how I would describe our time together.

It was so much fun hearing all about their wedding plans and how they are being very intentional with their timeline to maximize their time together. With a first look happening hours before the ceremony they will have so much time to soak up all the precious moments with each other, their wedding party, and family! They will be getting married this January at The Vue in the Brewery District of Columbus and it's going to be gorgeous!

They are such a fun and down to earth couple with some pretty amazing travel stories under their belt. Jeff is an airline pilot for Delta Air Lines and Jamie is a teacher at Intervention Specialist focusing on math at Olentangy High School. Since they can fly standby with Jeff's benefits a lot of the most memorable parts of their relationship and times of growth are based around travels.

During their first trip together to Italy they didn't make the planned flight to New York and had to change their plan to go to Detroit, London, then Rome. As they explain, both of their personalities cater toward spontaneity so although things don’t always go as planned, they just roll with it and it's all good! Over the past few years they have traveled together to Italy, Costa Rica, Spain, New York, Chicago, California, St. Thomas, the New Jersey Shore, Seattle, Oklahoma City, Florida, and more!

We had so much fun during their engagement session and couldn't have asked for better weather! We had to do a last minute change to our plan because the park we were going to kick the session off at was closed for a private event, so I got to witness their flexibility first hand as they happily agreed to drive to a different location for photos. We ended up starting their session at the Ohio Statehouse, which is forever a favorite of mine. It's a timeless look that really never gets old. We then headed over to the Grange Insurance Audubon Center to finish up the session with a beautiful sunset!

I asked Jeff and Jamie to tell me more about their unique love story and they truly outdid themselves with the tale! You won't want to miss not only how, but where Jeff popped the question!

"In early 2017 Jeff began Yoga Teacher Training at Core Power Yoga in Columbus, where he had been taking yoga for a little over a year. Jamie had been teaching yoga since Jeff had been attending Core Power, so they were familiar with each other, but did not have any interaction outside of the studio. Throughout the certification process Jeff was spending a lot of time at the yoga studio and had been taking a lot of Jamie's classes, as he quickly found out she was one of his favorite teachers. The more time he spent around the studio, taking her classes, and chatting with her before and after each class, he started developing a crush.

The feelings Jeff had started to develop for Jamie were a little complicated. He really enjoyed going to Core Power and was afraid if he divulged his feelings and was rejected, he would have to find a new yoga studio. But as his feelings grew, they were harder to keep to himself.

During a celebration with his teacher training classmates and some teachers after their "graduation" he admitted his feelings to one of the other teachers, who promptly texted Jamie instructed Jeff to ask for her number the next time he was in her class.

Just a few days later Jeff found himself in Jamie's class, excited at the proposition of asking her on a date. He decided to stick around after class and try to catch her when the other students had left. Jeff stayed after the class was over, trying to act busy in the lobby while Jamie was saying goodbye to the other students. There was a slight flaw in Jeff's plan though. As he waited, a group of three people were busy chatting with Jamie and they had no signs of going anywhere. Jeff had been keeping himself "busy" for about 20 minutes after class and still had not had a chance to talk to Jamie. He decided to go home and figure out a new plan.

Once he arrived at home he decided his best course of action would be to send Jamie a message on Instagram, since he was pretty sure she was expecting him to ask for her number. In the middle of writing his message to her, he got a text saying, "Hi, it's Jamie from yoga." Since she had been expecting him to ask for her number, Jamie found his number in the Core Power computer system and took action. From there they planned their first date.

Their first date took place  in May at Little Palace, a restaurant in downtown Columbus and it went off without a hitch. They slowly got to know each other better over the summer, but were only able to go out a few times as they both already had many summer travel plans. After their summer travels plans slowed down, Jeff and Jamie started seeing more of each other, and as they say, the rest is history.

In March, 2019 Jeff and Jamie traveled to Spain on her Spring Break, starting their vacation in Barcelona. After a day exploring the city and a nice dinner out, they arrived in a small plaza on their walk back where Jeff proposed. Rumor has it that Jamie said yes before Jeff could finish his proposal. They spent the next week celebrating their engagement in Barcelona and Madrid.

We are very excited to start our life together and overjoyed that we can share the start of our new life with our family and closest friends!”
