Ellie and Connor's Dreamy Autumn Wedding at Jeffrey Mansion
When arriving to the location where the two were getting ready, I was taken back at the details that were on display. Ellie, a designer herself, hand-crafted all the signage and stationery. The invitation set included a hand-drawn illustration of Jeffrey Mansion, a delicately scalloped RSVP card, and a charming tree-lined insert. The thoughtful attention to detail was a beautiful summary of the day to come.
Hanging in the doorway was Ellie’s gown from Luxe Redux Bridal. The structured bodice featured a soft sweetheart neckline with artful seam work along with a long train that flowed gracefully. Once she put on the sheer off-the-shoulder gloves, tears filled the eyes of the mothers and bridesmaids. Awaiting his bride for their first look, Connor stood in a classic black tux, with a smile from ear to ear. With a tap of the shoulder, Connor spun around and as soon as he saw Ellie he couldn’t help but instantly embrace her.
A Sunkissed Outdoor Ceremony
During the first look with dad, guests arrived. The ceremony took place behind the estate in a natural cove, lined with trees and autumn sunlight. Bear Roots Floral framed the aisle with rust, mauve, and golden hues, their texture playing against the evergreens. The altar was draped in florals that felt like they grew there. When the moment came and family walked down the aisle to their seats, anticipation grew.
My favorite part was once it was Ellie’s turn. So often a first look isn’t done because couples worry it will take away the emotions of walking down the aisle. Ellie and Connor were proof that it’s the opposite. As Ellie met her groom, both had tears in their eyes and smiles that words can’t describe.
It was the perfect start to the beautiful ceremony lead by Ellie’s brother-in-law. After their announcement as husband and wife, they tucked away quietly, soaking in their first few minutes as newlyweds. A moment just between them before joining their wedding party, their nieces and nephews, and the rest of their loved ones.
Reception Celebrations in Carriage Court
While we explored the lawn for portraits, guests transitioned from the floral-filled ceremony to a patio cocktail hour. Champagne and hors d'oeuvres were carried around as loved ones caught up with one another. All the while, the final details on the reception were put into place.
Located in the Carriage Court, the reception was filled with layered gold accents and candlelight from Aiden & Grace. Floral centerpieces echoed the ceremony tones, a mix of creamy white ranunculus, burgundy zinnias, rust-colored astilbe, and peach and blush dahlias. Depth was added through a mix of vessels and textures. Each table was topped with menus Ellie had designed herself, and the bar signage, yes, also by the bride, felt editorial and elegant. Guests enjoyed dinner from Milo’s Catering, heartfelt speeches, and special dances before heading upstairs the spend the rest of the night.
Ellie and Connor’s wedding at the historic Jeffrey Mansion in Bexley, Ohio was nothing short of intentional.
One of the most beautiful aspects of this day was how well Ellie and Connor used every space at Jeffrey Mansion. Each transition felt natural, cozy, and fresh. The ceremony was full of light, the reception warm and intimate, and the upstairs celebration full of energy. Josh Staley Productions kept the party going while the couple danced with all those who adore them.
This wedding was full of love, artistry, and presence; a day that will be remembered for a lifetime!
