Mallory & Mitchell’s Summer Ohio Statehouse Wedding

June wedding at the Columbus Ohio Statehouse

A Breathtaking Celebration in the Heart of Columbus

Mallory and Mitchell’s story is one of my favorites. It starts with a first date that changed everything and landed us to this magical day! These two have been each other’s constants since then and it was evident on their wedding day. When it came to planning, their vision was simple: something timeless, elegant, and filled with the people who know them best. Prema Designs went beyond expectations and created a day that was perfectly them.

Getting Ready at the Junto Hotel

To encapsulate the day, the invitation suite by Lumaca Designs paired sophistication and whimsical effortlessly. With the envelope lined in a rattan pattern and the invitation mirroring the pattern of the bride’s gown, every detail was curated to match the day.

In the airy hotel room, Mallory was surrounded by her closest friends, popping champagne and cheering with joy. Hanging effortlessly was a Lea-Ann Belter gown featuring peony-embossed jacquard. It was the perfect ode to the summer season. The beauty duo of Sarah W. and Angie Warren gave everyone a soft, radiant finish. Shortly before seeing her groom, Mallory took a moment with her dad which brought on the waterworks.

At the groom’s parents house, Mitchell put on his attire from The Black Tux. This made everything feel real and anticipation really started to grow as the next thing on the timeline was the first look.

The Couple’s First Moments Together

Before the ceremony, Mallory and Mitchell decided on a first look tucked away in a quiet corner of the Ohio Statehouse grounds. With the soft light filtering through the Greek Revival columns, Mitchell turned and saw Mallory for the first time in her gown and everything paused. Their expressions were a mix of laughter and tears, and it was as if time stood still for just a heartbeat. After that moment, we moved through the iconic architecture with the wedding party, capturing genuine smiles, playful glances, and the timeless charm of the Statehouse serving as the perfect backdrop.

A Timeless Church Ceremony at St. Francis of Assisi

Their ceremony took place at the warm and historic St. Francis of Assisi Church in Columbus, where guests gathered beneath golden arches and stained glass. The air felt still with anticipation as Mallory walked down the aisle on her father’s arm, her monogrammed bouquet just barely shaking with the rhythm of the moment. Mitchell’s eyes filled the second he saw her. They met at the altar in quiet awe, surrounded by loved ones and greenery-lined pews. A kiss, a cheer, and the sound of the church doors swinging open into daylight and Mallory and Mitchell were married!

A Reception to Remember at The Ohio Statehouse

From the dreamiest send-off to the exterior of the Statehouse, we never stopped having fun. There’s truly something magical about the Statehouse that never gets old. The symmetry, the columns, the open air. The wedding party in mismatched greens and tuxes brought the personality to the traditional elements. After capturing the full family, it was time to make our way indoors.

As the couple stepped into the Atrium for a grand reveal, jaws hit the floor. With planning and design by Aisle & Co and Prema Designs, the space was dressed in soft textures and glowing light. Layered florals from hung overhead and danced down the tables and rentals from Aiden & Grace. Le Gateau’s cake stood tall and elegant, dotted with subtle color and texture that tied into the day. After tear-inducing speeches and the clinking of glasses, Music City Sound opened the floor. They know how to read a room which meant the party never stopped.

The Perfect Pair: Beaded Reception Gown & Espresso Martinis

As the reception carried on and the lights dimmed, Mallory stepped away to come out in a new look that matched the dance floor’s energy. She traded her ballgown for a sleek beaded Helsi Brice halter dress and sparkly sneakers, ready to dance the night away. But before hitting the floor, she and Mitchell made a stop at the bar where a tower of espresso martinis waited. An eye-catching, caffeine-fueled invitation to keep the celebration going strong. With coupe glasses in hand and their guests cheering them on, these two were ready for an unforgettable night.

Lastly, I can’t forget to mention Jes Married, who created custom watercolor portraits of guests as a thank you from the couple. I truly mean it when I say that I will remember the details and the fun of this day forever.
