Indian Run Falls is like a secret little gem in Dublin where you can follow the path through the woods and end up on a beautiful trail along the river that feels like a slice of Hocking Hills in the heart of downtown.

We had such a gorgeous sun-drenched evening for their engagement session. I loved Kelly’s long flowy dress that added such a fun element of warmth, texture and movement to the session— it perfectly complemented the warm brick tones found throughout German Village. Katie and Kaitlin are one of those couples that instantly feel like friends and are such a joy to photograph. I first met Katie at a bridal photoshoot for La Jeune Mariee. She was one of the models and it was so much fun photographing her in all the different gowns. She wasn’t engaged yet, but showed me the ring she already had picked out for Kaitlin. I remember her telling me that as soon as Kaitlin popped the question she would be in touch. Not too long after they were celebrating their engagement and started planning their destination wedding in Key West. I feel like I hit the jackpot with these two and am just so excited to capture their big day!

We planned meticulously for this. While I was visiting family in Pennsylvania, we were going to get together and do the engagement session since they lived here, and I live in Ohio. We had the perfect park picked out, full of gardens and statement architecture, we purchased our tickets well in advance and coordinated the outfits… it was going to be a dream. However, there are many things that can change your plans… park closed for an event or storms are the most common, but in our case, it was a huge truck that had wrecked into the gardens the day before, causing the park to be shut down.
